Abd A. Masoud
Abd A. Masoud was born in 1963 in Amman, Jordan, and has been living in Vienna, Austria since 1984. In 1987 he received his Bachelor of Art from Webster University, Vienna. In 1989 he started working professionally in the field of silk screen printing. During this period he acquired his first knowledge of graphic design and typography. In 1994 he discovered his passion for restoring antique wood sculpture and furniture. Through this work he learned many techniques in this field including wood curving, calligraphy and painting. A particular interest in painting led him to pursue and expand his skills in this medium. His work experience has been varied and impressive. In 2008 he started running the Rearte Gallery as a non-profit private initiative which was launched in order to give a chance for known and unknown artists to present themselves and work in the exclusive and representative atmosphere of Vienna, Austria. Masoud is a member of the Jordanian Plastic Artist Association, the Austrian Association of Professional Art, and the International Association of Art. His projects include the Jordanian cultural week "Getting Together" in Vienna in 2010, the Hungarian cultural week in the Rearte Gallery in 2011, and in 2012 the Egyptian week in Vienna. Masoud also has several exhibitions to his credit, such as his February 2011 solo exhibition in the United Nations, “Geneva Dream of a Child,” and his April 2011 solo exhibition at the Hungarian Museum of Trade and Tourism, Budapest.
