Haya Awad (1982) is a young, up-and-coming Jordanian graphic designer, pop artist and fashion stylist with a unique contemporary edge. A junior free-lancer with a bachelor’s degree in graphic design, she specializes in creating promotional and advertising themes for a range of products.
Haya started out at Shawkat Al Shami Jewelry, then worked briefly for communication agency Adpro, and currently holds the position of Project Manager at Nutridar. In 2005, she embarked on her first artistic venture, “Pop Art Exhibition,” under the patronage of HRH Princess Dr. Wijdan Ali. She dazzled visitors with handmade dresses inspired by women's quotidian existence and made from an innovative combination of recycled materials. Her artwork received substantial recognition and was covered by a range of magazines.
Haya lends an artistic element to fashion, mixing art with reality to create bold, inspiring visual statements. In 2006, as part of “A Celebration of Jordanian Contemporary Art," Haya showed her work along with 42 fellow Jordanian artists at the 4WALLS Gallery under the patronage of HRH Princess Muna Al Hussein. “Fashion Attack,” Haya's second mixed media art exhibition and her first solo show, represents a creative attempt to comment on the power of fashion media to influence our sense of self.
