A full time professional artist for over 40 years, Jalal Ariqat’s paintings have been exhibited worldwide. Born in Limassol, Cyprus in 1953, and having received his Diploma in Fine Arts in 1975, Jalal is a member of the Jordanian Plastic Artist Association’s administrative board, the Jordanian Environment Society’s Committee on Art and the Environment, the Mediterranean Art Association, and the Jordanian Society for Renewable Energy. Ariqat has also participated in most J.P.A.A. exhibitions and festivals both inside and outside Jordan. Between 1975 and 2009 he exhibited in over 180 international group exhibitions in Cyprus, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Sharjah, Iraq, Yemen, Oman, Egypt, Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco, Spain, the United States, China, Bangladesh, Palestine, England, Belgium, and Azerbaijan. His work has also been featured in joint exhibitions in Jordan, Lebanon, and Syria over the past fifteen years. Ariqat’s solo exhibitions have taken place at various venues in Amman including the King Hussein Gardens.
