Born in Jabalia Refugee Camp, Gaza, in 1979, Mohammed Al Madhoun lives and works in Gaza. He graduated with a Bachelors degree in Art Education from Al Aqsa University in 2004, and holds a diploma in Illustration for Children’s Books awarded to him by the Tamer Institute for Community Education under the supervision of Professor Daniel Maja. He has supervised a number of visual art training courses in various private and public institutions, and has also participated in art workshops and courses at the YMCA and the Arts & Crafts Village. In 2010 he was awarded the Child Culture Prize by the Culture and Free Thought Association in Khan Younis. Over the last ten years Al Madhoun has participated in a number of group exhibitions in Gaza. Some of his artworks are in the private and public collections of individuals and institutions in Palestine and across the world. ‘’The Power and Challenge of Time’’ is his first solo exhibition.
