Born in Bethlehem, Naser Jawabra earned his BA in Painting in 1988, and his MA in Painting in 2001, both from the University of Baghdad. He has participated in group exhibitions in Iraq, Palestine, Algeria, Syria, and Spain, and had his first solo show, Memory, in Palestine in 2007. Between 2003 and 2008, Jawabra was a Lecturer and faculty member in the Fine Art departments of a number of Palestinian academic institutions, including Al-Quds University, Al-Quds Open University, Palestine Polytechnic, and Dar al-Kalima College. In addition to his work as an artist and educator, he is also a writer. His art criticism has appeared in regional and international journals, and his Masters thesis was published in Palestine as part of a book entitled, "The Thought Structure of Contemporary Palestinian Art.” In 2008, he began a PhD program at the University of Granada, Spain, where he is focusing on Postmodernism in contemporary Palestinian art.
